26-GRMT-F3-0047 This self-paced activity is designed for paramedic providers and focuses on cardiology assessment and management for medical emergencies. Using case-based discussion, participants will review cardiovascular assessment, recognition of unstable patients, cardiac rhythm interpretation, 12-lead ECG acquisition, medication administration, electrical therapy, reassessment, documentation, and transport decisions. Topics include cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology, coronary circulation, perfusion, acute coronary syndromes, dysrhythmias, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and cardiac arrest. Additional content includes systematic ECG interpretation, rate and rhythm analysis, axis, intervals, bundle branch blocks, ischemia and infarction patterns, STEMI recognition, right-sided and posterior leads, pacemakers, synchronized cardioversion, defibrillation, transcutaneous pacing, antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, nitrates, aspirin, analgesia, post-resuscitation care, and cardiovascular considerations. Participants will also review how assessment findings guide treatment priorities, medication choices, electrical interventions, requests for additional resources, transport destination, and communication with medical control, responding personnel, and receiving facilities throughout patient care. Learning Objectives At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to: Perform an organized cardiovascular and cardiac rhythm assessment Recognize life-threatening dysrhythmias, acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and cardiac arrest Select and perform appropriate pharmacologic and electrical therapies Reassess the patient, evaluate treatment response, address complications, and determine transport priority Completion Requirements Complete the full course Pass the post-test with a score of 80% or higher Complete the course evaluation Certificate Information: CAPCE credit
