Critical Care Course Overview
The Critical Care Course covers an extensive range of critical care topics and skills, including but not limited to:

Airway Management: Techniques and equipment for advanced airway management, intubation, and cricothyrotomy.

Ventilation: Operation, management, and troubleshooting of mechanical and noninvasive ventilators.

Vascular Access and Monitoring: Insertion and management of arterial lines, central venous catheters, chest tubes, and introduction to hemodynamic monitoring.

Procedure Skills: Escharotomy, operation of cardiac assist devices, intracranial pressure monitoring, and more.

Medical Devices: Use and troubleshooting of various devices such as infusion pumps, temperature-monitoring probes, and pacemakers.

Patient Care: Insertion and maintenance of tubes, use of obstetric and ultrasonography equipment, and infectious disease precautions.

Format and Schedule
Hybrid model
Online coursework and virtual clinical time use case studies, reviews, live on-screen ventilator simulations and point-of-view demonstrations. Complete 1–2 in-person lab days (dates TBA). Optional flight-site and hospital visits offer additional experience.
Certification Details
AZDHS State Approved
Complete required coursework, virtual clinical activities and lab validations to earn the program completion certificate. FP-C and CCP-C certification require separate examinations.
