26-GRMT-F3-0035 This self-paced activity is designed for advanced EMS providers and focuses on the assessment and management of toxicologic emergencies, poisoning, and intentional or accidental overdose. Using case-based discussion, participants will review scene safety, toxidrome recognition, advanced patient assessment, early identification of life-threatening complications, treatment priorities, medication administration, reassessment, consultation with medical control or poison control, and transport decisions. Topics include opioid overdose, sedative-hypnotics, stimulants, sympathomimetics, anticholinergic and cholinergic poisoning, tricyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, acetaminophen, salicylates, alcohols, carbon monoxide, cyanide, household and industrial chemicals, pediatric ingestions, intentional overdose, withdrawal syndromes, contaminated substances, and polysubstance exposure. Additional content includes airway and ventilatory support, capnography, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead ECG interpretation, glucose assessment, vascular access, antidote administration, sodium bicarbonate therapy, seizure management, hypotension and dysrhythmia treatment, decontamination considerations, responder protection, and communication with receiving facilities. Learning Objectives At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to: * Identify common toxidromes and overdose presentations requiring immediate ALS intervention and rapid transport * Differentiate opioid, sympathomimetic, sedative, anticholinergic, cholinergic, and cardiotoxic poisoning based on assessment findings * Recognize airway compromise, respiratory failure, seizures, shock, dysrhythmias, altered mental status, and other signs of toxicologic deterioration * Apply appropriate advanc Completion Requirements • Complete the full course • Pass the post-test with a score of 80% or higher • Complete the course evaluation Certificate Information: CAPCE credit
